Community care

The Second Mile Club has been providing community support services to the City of Toronto for over 80 years. We offer safe, recreational spaces with accessible, welcoming services for older adults and adults living with disabilities.

Our volunteer roles

Friendly visitors: Provide social support and interact with a resident. Visits can include chatting, walking around the facility, playing a game or doing an activity.

Program assistant: Assist with the implementation of social programs. Volunteers will help to bring residents to and from programs, and interact with them during the program.

Medical escorts: Travel with a client to and from to a medical appointment.

Complimentary therapy: Participate as a member of the trans-disciplinary care team and practice therapy.

Entertainment: Host a performance for clients to enjoy.
